I am a coastal Maine transplant, living in a bucolic town with my husband and six-year-old son, a rag-tag flock of chickens and two boisterous, lovable lab mixes.

As a producer, writer and editor, I have a combined two decades of experience in media. My most recent project is content producer for the award-winning PBS KIDS series, Carl the Collector.

My passion is creating content that inspires and empowers people to take positive action for the greater good.

I spent my formative career years in Boston. It all started at the U.S. Attorney’s Office where I worked as a paralegal in their Health Care Fraud unit. It was exciting work, fighting for the underdog, and my time there helped me hone my research and persuasive writing skills. But after nearly two years I decided to pivot from the law school track to shape a career in media where I felt my skills were better suited to have an impact on the issues important to me. And that has been my path—in one form or another—ever since.

My early career helped me build a diverse base of communications and analytical skills that today make me adaptable to meet a variety of needs. I can help you develop and polish a script, merge educational content with a great story, do the background research for a white paper or write an op-ed.

I am particularly drawn to work that focuses on environmental science, nature literacy, civics education and social-emotional themes of inclusion and empathy. And this is where my professional life dovetails with my personal life.

As a member of my town’s Conservation Commission, I support efforts related to the environmental health and sustainability of our community. Our projects have included assessing and tracking the biodiversity on the island, collecting data on tides to inform mitigation for road flooding, and the development and implementation of a climate action plan.

I have also been involved in advocating for other local pro-environmental policies, including helping to pass town ordinances banning single-use plastic bags and polystyrene containers; supporting campaigns for pro-solar legislation at the state level; and contributing opinion columns and letters to the editor.
